Our Story
A love of all things DIY and crafty inspired husband-and-wife team Jan and Rosanne Korteland to create Country Chic Paint in 2014. They set out with a clear and simple goal in mind: to make painting easier and more fun. The result is a unique line of eco-friendly chalk-style furniture paint that is easy to use, offers superior adhesion, and has a matte finish that’s easy to distress.
On November 4, 2015 Country Chic Paint was featured on one of Canada's most popular reality programs, Dragons' Den. That same year, our company was awarded the 2015 BC Export Award in the consumer products category. It's been through the wonderful support of our customers, retailers, staff and fans that our brand has become such a success, and we are very excited to see more and more people painting with Country Chic Paint!

Giving Back
We have chosen to donate a portion of our yearly proceeds to two charities (Food Banks Canada and Feeding America) that feed those in need in Canada and the USA. Many of those in our own communities go without the necessities of life, including many children, and we want to do our part in making a small difference in their lives.
Our Values
Low Environmental Impact:
Our products are tested to have low to zero VOC levels and the pigments we use are also VOC-free. Our brochures are printed on 100% recycled paper from sustainable sources. Our products comply with California Proposition 65 legislation and require no label warnings.
Recycling Programs:
Country Chic Paint is a proud member of paint recycling programs across North America to ensure that leftover paint is properly recycled and not dumped in a landfill. Check out our program!
Supporting the Local Economy:
Our products and raw materials are sourced and manufactured in North America whenever possible. Our jars and lids are manufactured in the USA by a family-owned company, and our Canadian paint manufacturing partner is also family-owned and operated.
Avoid Unnecessary Chemicals:
Our products are formulated to NOT contain any of the following: phthalates, formaldehyde, heavy metals, turpentine, terpenes, benzene, vinyl chloride, crystalline silica, acrolein, orthodichlorobenzene, isophorone, butanone, methylene chloride and alkylphenol ethoxylates.
